dare to be vulnerable.

"The Lord moves in miraculous ways when we bring our hurt and shame and pain into the Light. He brings freedom and redemption and grace. He reminds us of His blood shed, the pain He endured, and His ultimate sacrifice. He fixes our eyes to His blood shed on Calvary instead of focusing on our own struggles. We can see a victory because He rose from the grave and triumphed over all.

But we hide. We stay stuck. We keep quiet. And we remain chained down to the struggle. We keep carrying a burden we were not meant to carry. We lose sight of Heaven and of Hope. We listen to the voice of the enemy instead of the truth from our Author. We believe the Father of lies instead of the Father of Life itself.

Here’s to a movement of vulnerability and honesty. Here’s to watching the shackles fall off and Light rush into every dark place. Here’s to speaking truth over every lie we believe. Here’s to freedom and running into our Father’s arms.

It starts with the Promises of His Living Word. It begins with saturating your mind with the words He spoke instead of the noise and chaos of this world.

The Maker writes, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1-4)

Our Creator, the Painter of the Skies and Ruler of the Galaxies, says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. This is the most freeing statement we could ever hear. This means that we now can live from a place of confidence and love instead of shame and guilt. We can let grace wash over our past because of the nails that pierced His hands and the crown of thorns He wore. We can let His love cover every part of our broken past and step into a new identity as His beloved child. We deserve wrath and evil, but instead we are washed by the Lamb and covered in grace. We are forgiven, made whole, and redeemed. We are chosen, loved, and significant.

This promise and this truth gives us the confidence as believers to boldly bring our mess and broken pieces to the altar and let Him bind our wounds. We don’t have to have it all together. We don’t have to be good enough. We don’t have to hide our flaws. We just have to come and lay it all down. We just have to sit at His feet and fall in love with His Presence and His smile.

The Author of Life just wants your heart. He is jealous for your love and your attention. He wants to spend time with you and walk with you in the garden of your soul. Let Him take you to the secret place with Him where there is no distraction or noise, but only stillness and peace and rest. Let Him take you there and whisper your origin to you. Let Him remind you of His constant faithfulness and goodness in your life. And fall in love with the Bridegroom.

Dare to be vulnerable. Dare to be bold. Dare to be honest.

Dare to bring the struggle and the pain into His Glorious Light. Let His voice and His promises drown out every doubt and every lie. Above all the noise, lean into His whisper. Lean into His arms. Lean into His embrace. This is where abundant life is found." -Lauren Sink
