"'Yes, my soul, find rest in God;

my hope comes from him.

Truly He is my rock and my salvation;

He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

My salvation and my honor depend on God;

He is my mighty rock, my refuge.

Trust in Him at all times, you people;

pour out your hearts to Him,

for God is our refuge.' Ps 62:1-2

Where will you run my soul?

That is a question I keep asking myself so many times during the day recently. I feel my soul searching, aching, & longing for something more. Something else. & I believe that this is a question that we are all asking each and everyday.

Everyday I wake up to find out all over again that the emptiness of this world never satisfies. People let you down. Plans fall apart or never happen. Anxiety & worries & fear come. Relationships end. Life is so busy & moving so quick. Everyone is tired & running dry.

So where can we go? Where can we run?

To the secret place & to the Father’s arms where we belong.

To the shadow of His wings & His shelter.

& to the Creator of the Universe.

Father, lead us back to the secret place with You. Take us back to the Simple Pursuit of just You & Your heart. May this be all that we desire every time we wake up in the morning. Refresh and renew our wandering & weary hearts. Awake our souls to dance with You again, singing melodies of praise to You all day long.

There is no other Name, no other Love, & no other place where we can run that we will find the fulfillment that we do in You. Unravel us to the end of ourselves so that we may be built upon the firm foundation of Your truth. Help us be still & know You are fighting for us always.

Even when we run to these empty wells, You still pursue us recklessly. You offer us Living Water to satisfy our thirst. You are always there, always constant, always loving. Even when we run.

So may our souls turn & run to You, Father. May we run Home to Your arms where we belong." -Lauren Sink
